World Toilet Day 2020: Sustainable Sanitation & Climate Change

World Toilet Day celebrates toilets and raises awareness of the 4.2 billion people living without access to safely managed sanitation on November 19. It is about taking action to tackle the global sanitation crisis and achieve Sustainable Development Goal 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030.

In 2020, World Toilet Day reminds the importance of sustainable sanitation, alongside clean water and handwashing facilities, to help protect and maintain human health security and control the spread of infectious diseases such as the COVID19. Here, we express our deepest sympathies to people worldwide who have faced losses due to the COVID19 pandemic.

This year's theme for World Toilet Day is Sustainable Sanitation and Climate Change. But how can we evaluate the sustainability of sanitation systems? This article tries to provide an answer to this critical question!
